Hey y’all,
A little something different this week: I’m taking down the paywall for a bunch of my favorite Tuesday letters so anyone can read them. Feel free to share these far and wide! (Big thanks to paid subscribers for affording me this space to play in.)
The magic of the brush pen. (And how I make my CMYK pens.)
How to make a map of your mind.
The simple pleasures of date stamps.
For giving thanks next week: my gratitude zine! (I added a simplified Thanksgiving zine at the bottom for kiddos.)
Meg’s pizza recipe.
A simple tool that works: the daily challenge.
For easy filling of the page: one-page diary exercises.
A dozen books worth reading.
Tips for a better life with books: How to read like an artist.
Thanks for reading. This newsletter is a reader-supported publication. The best way to support it is to buy my books, hire me to speak, shop for some of my favorite gear (I get a cut), or become a paid subscriber:
xoxo,
Austin
PS. This is what I did yesterday. (I’ll tell you all about the trip next week.)
D'oh! The Daily Challenge! Actually, I am doing a kind of daily challenge in November: logo design. I want to create a new logo for my newsletter and I am trying to come up with one new design every day. I'm using pen and paper and saving the results every day. Maybe I'll do a poll at the end and see if people have any opinions on the results... sorry, blathering a bit here.
Daily Challenges are fun and I got the idea from you!
a 100 Day Art Project using watercolours and the book One Color A Day by Courtney Cerruti. I’ve added a written component to the project which is a real challenge for me. Trying to work ahead a bit and surrender to the process. I’m posting on IG (I’m @algeabloom ) and Tumblr (pamelab)
