Thank you as usual for being such a creative inspiration in my life. I've been doing a yearly top 100 list the past few years and I find it such a valuable exercise. I had forgotten so many of the great things that happened this year!

Sorry to hear about your kidney stone. Maybe a little Rolling Stones music might move things along?

Ugh, sorry to hear about your kidney stone! I have suffered numerous stones over the years (starting at age 20, wtf) and it really is the worst ... but also you'll feel like a million bucks when you finally pass it. Good luck!!

Ah nuts, I figured you were dealing with a kidney stone... I know from experience how excruciating it can be, hopefully it will be better soon. Thanks so much for a great year and sharing great stuff with us, hopefully you'll be back in creative form to usher in 2023!

Perhaps a good song to listen to right now would be George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass", (sorry I couldn't resist.) But it's also just a great, introspective song that I like to come back to every now and again. Thank you for this Friday newsletter of goodies and Merry Christmas/feel better soon! :)

If they're calcium citrate stones, check out eating less oxalates to make sure you never have them again. I wish I'd known this sooner. Glad all is well now.

I'm very happy for you. I've ordered Higgs's book. I hope it doesn’t have the same effect on me. I love Jules's Coconut portrait. Running toward the new year wishing you all the best.

Awesome list. Sorry about the stones; ouch. Every time I hear that Blake line I can’t help but think of Jim Morrison crooning it in The Doors. Your friend Mark sounds wise. Yes: Movement towards something good versus away from something bad/hard/scary. Books are treasures that save your life. And writing. Let’s not forget the joy of writing.
