Your idea of letting books talk to each other reminds me of this book: "Frans Johansson's The Medici Effect shows how breakthrough ideas most often occur when we bring concepts from one field into a new, unfamiliar territory and offers examples of how we can turn the ideas we discover into path-breaking innovations."
This year flew by and I wonder what I’ve accomplished. I have discipline but not for everything. Right now my workouts are my discipline. And Wednesday standup comedy class. My nervous system also feels like too much!
Thank you so much. I need that stamper. I custom-designed a calendar/planner suited to my flavor of ADHD and sometimes I need to add special messages. I started watching the last season of Slow Horses with closed caption on to catch what I've missed.
I've been having "where did November go?!" vibes here too. Funny how time can both drag and race by. Thanks for more great suggestions! I've got Ways of Being on hold from the library. Cheers!
A book to follow from James Bridle and Ed Yong, Notes on Complexity by Neil Theise. It brings together evolution, Budhism, and quantum mechanics - heady stuff
Ah December! The one month in which the darkness of the days allows us to continue to be a beacon of light for yet another year...God willing! Headed to the City of Light in tomorrow! Oui, Oui...
I’m gonna get those 2 books. I did figure drawing this week in class! I’m so glad it was on the syllabus. I had not done it before and just glad I pushed through the internal censor telling me I didn’t know what I was doing!😉.... today I’m putting up my Christmas lights! I need it NOW as it is dark by 4 pm. Crazy!🎄👩🎨
I'm reading An Immense World as well, and bought Ways of Being last month specifically to compliment it! It's taking me forever to read though because it's almost too interesting haha, I keep stopping to take notes.
Went down a rabbit hole and read the 'meeting the pope' article. Her use of language was entertaining and challenging at the same time. So delicious.

Huh. Another beauty gift of a post, rich with goodies. Thankyou.

Gems in this one... and Decembers awful I’m nervous systems I think, too much going on and too many expectations.

I’m taking those two books on a long haul flight. Any ideas about how to do thirty days while away for a week on a press trip?

Looking down the barrel of December can seem too much, and once again you galvanize my scattered energy, Austin. You and The Smiths. 😉 Thank you.
Thank you.
