I love The Righteous Gemstones but could never get into Succession. Baby Billy is a gem. Pun intended.

I’m off to see Asteroid City today, for the second time. I’m obsessed! I also love the companion book, Do Not Detonate without Presidential Approval.

I call my backyard haven the 'studiolo'! I had learned that from Michael Pollan's research for his book about building his own studio. Studiolos were the first rooms intended for solo occupation. Desks for work had been in a room that the whole family shared before this, in Italy I think (may be making that part up because of the 'lo'.) But I had not known about the verb! That somehow justifies the studiaire I do at my kitchen table and not always in the studiolo. And you've inspired me to go to Asteroid City with no googling.

I need a new computer and was at desktop computers until my wife reminded me that I like to work in so many different parts of the house! The world is our studio!

My studio is a shed. It also happens to be a multipurpose space for family visits and parties. I don’t really see it as a studio but I like the idea of describing creative shedlike activities. Shediare and shediolo work equally well!

Lovely! I had the exact opposite reaction to Into The Spider-Verse--I watched it alone on Wednesday in an empty movie theater, which was awesome!--the visuals were all over the place and I had a hard time tracking what was happening, but I thought the story was good!

Playovers... or playwithers?: If you like thunderstorms, play a soundtrack of that along with your favorite music.

Curious about other playovers...
