Happy to have paid for the year so others can enjoy this newsletter like I do! I don't really read the paper, so this is my form of it. Even more fitting when you include your blackout poetry pieces. Thanks again.

Oh my gosh: I always find something in your "10 Things..." to link to for urgent, current, or not-too-distant-future perusal, purchase, or review. But today? Yikes! Seven out of ten "things" are of intense interest, and at least one of the others (Barbara Ehrenreich) was a yes-yes-yes-already-did-that response. Wow. Thank you, Austin!

I just read this interview with Howard Jones, and as soon as I learned he did a “synth jam” at the 1985 Grammys with Thomas Dolby, Herbie Hancock, and STEVIE WONDER I knew it’d be your kind of thing. Enjoy!

Light & Magic looks great, thanks for the tip I'll have to check it out! Disney+ has lots of great documentary series on their own content, including the parks and the rides. Always fun and inspiring to watch!

I'll definitely be checking out the Ghostly ambient playlist (and some of their others)—thanks!

Given your ongoing blackout poetry and discussion of redactions a week or so back, I finally realized that some of y'all might get a kick out of the online game, Redactle. Quite simply, you have to guess the subject of a heavily redacted Wikipedia article. It's harder than you might think!

I think the Orson Welles quote ties back into the tension of master vs. amateur idea that was discussed recently. The boldness of not knowing what the hell you're doing.
