I appreciate these list dispatches of awesomeness. Thank you for always opening my mind up in ways I am often not even aware it needs to be. Thank you for sharing these nuggets with us. Ripple On!!!
Loved. LOVED Kevin Killeen's monologue man on the street for February. Definitely no tap dancing across the street this month. Though in Austin, it's that I'm not dancing because it's goddamn 85 degrees out and I'm sweating in my winter clothing!
Thanks Austin. I appreciate all this even while under the weather. For a laid back uplift check out “Music for black Pigeons” on Kanopy and if your looking for a great soup recipe check this one out : https://yes-moreplease.com/2014/01/pozole-verde-k-pozolillo/
The posters, make me think might of my sweet mother. Dinner is ready she calls, by your first name, five minutes later, first and middle, ten minutes later, first middle last. My DAD you would have been at the door when you heard the backdoor. I can think of many lessons getting opportunities of pushing the limits and patience of others. Thanks for the memory.
The only problem with these posts twice a week is that I inevitably decide to buy a book or something as a result. This time Tate and Zapruder are calling me. No worries, the mortgage can wait.
Not always, but often times you can find them at your local library. I also check reviews on Goodreads. By entering the name of the book, you get good information. If you enter the author name, you see more of the books he or she has written.
Lynn, thanks! I was being facetious, just pointing out how much I get from these posts each time including new sources to explore, but your advice will also save me money!
After a week of reckoning with the flu at school that took down more than 10% of staff and students, Kevin Killeen's monologue was a much needed salve. Thank you for sharing that, and for the classroom friendly posters!
The conversation you had with Beth Pickens led me to her Homework Club - and so many good things in my life have come from that. :)

Tampopo means dandelion. And it’s one of the names preschools/kindergartens/daycares get named in Japan.

You're one of the Substacks I read with my first cup of coffee. 🙏🏻 Thanks for adding to my towering TBR wall. 📚📚☕️
Love the posters! thanks.
I like your theory about epigraphs. I’ll definitely be testing this.

Pretty sure I have the flu right now! 😂
