Oh my... I just read this newsletter today... and #6 "artists are always working, though they may not seem as if they are" is soooo true! Thank you for your thoughts.
... Corita Kent keeps popping up in my world - I obviously need to pay attention to this. Podcast recommendation - “Great Women Artists” - December 22nd interview about about Sister Mary Corita Kent. Show notes are exceptionally informative. Have you seen the doc Rebel Hearts? https://www.rebelheartsfilm.com/
Regarding the "artists are always working," I think of the poet, Robert Creely, who said that people didn't understand that he could be sitting silently staring out the window and still be working very hard.
Hey Austin, I think you might enjoy the doco on HBO, All That Breathes. I am writing about it in my newsletter for Sunday, but it's got a lot of things in it that I know you will deeply appreciate. Apologies if you've already noted it!
Quite the interesting video on book pirating in Mumbai.
I bought Steal Like an Artist in hardback at a book store...ordered Keep Going from Amazon and was disappointed that it was paperback. Anyone know where I can get Show Your Work in hardback? For some reason the hardback just feels better to me.
Thanks for writing your 10 things worth sharing this week. I don't think I commented on this, but what you wrote regarding the Thesaurus was interesting-pretty good writing. I've read the dictionary-I actually have several copies..maybe the dictionary has become irrelevant? The word irrelevant is being used a lot lately and I wonder why? The actual word seems like a negative word, but then it depends how the word is being used. And I do have something to say about this, but maybe not today.
I saw your book in a Mumbai bookstore too! The most painful thing was the hack “reformatting” job they did to make it fit the non-square format

Ahhh, Walk On By is beautiful, both the writing and performance. Thanks for the reminder.❤️
Austin, did you enjoy “Lion in Winter”?

Only the 10th anniversary edition of STEAL is available in hardback...
Oh! That's the one I have. Thanks for the info...I'll order the paperback. :-)
