Are you familiar with Joni Mitchell's musical version of "The Second Coming," called "Slouching Towards Bethlehem"? Profound and chilling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1j0j4r_gnw

I suspect that I am a bit older than your median readership age. The piece on Martin Scorsese was brilliant and just as much a piece on aging as it was on Mr. Scorsese. Truly one of the best articles I read this year and I read for a living.

I agree. I was born in 1959 and I have that interview archived so I can read it when I need to get a new breath of the real. I’m sorry that the for real is disappearing. It seems especially damaging spiritually

on future generations. No grappling with the soul in current times . I also look to David Bowies video Blackstar for a shot of the real.

Good Lord! What time is it? I've been clicking and delighting for hours. Wonderful! I'll reluctantly get back to work now, and see if I can "imitate a person looking on the world calmly.”

Just watched The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and it was very Wes Anderson! I was thinking the same doing a marathon watch of his movies.

I've got to say, it's nice to be dazzled and not downtrodden- like most other things out there to read or scroll through. Your suggestions are like opening a window in the morning and being delighted by all the sites and sounds. So thank you! I'm especially delighted about the Roald Dahl movies by Wes Anderson!!!!! Just the wall paper in the opening of the trailer had me squealing with delight. Great way to start the weekend. I look forward to everything you write.

I’ve been weening myself off Instagram, but Aimee Mann’s cartoons are a reason to stay on! So thankful to know about these!
