Love this, and esp your astronomy inclusions! "Escape Velocity" is a term used when a comet - orbiting endlessly - has gotten just close enough to the sun to take advantage of its centrifugal force, and is propelled out of our solar system forever. Also, recommend Annie Dillard's wonderful essay "Total Eclipse."
Austin, I hope you’re writing about not being able to write. I’ll bet you have a million thoughts about this. A million Private Thoughts. But something that could be distilled into one hell of a book someday-- written as no one else can--from your particular point of view.
Thank you for sending us over to the Noted post on daily planners! I read every comment and reply. Now a question has come to the forefront of my mind: Why do I have an etch-a-sketch attitude about my life overall? (I'm 80 now, so I've postponed a helluva lot of etching.) I bookmarked the post so I can return to it to ruminate -- if not to etch. Oh, that I'd had a personal grio all these years, and now my own Greek chorus to tell me what it's all meant . . .
The epitaph could just as well be RIP HBO. Going the Netflix route and cancelling great shows after only two seasons (they did the same to Winning Time) means the HBO of old is truly gone.
Your book titles look so much more sexy in Italian. And I don't even speak the language. I bet they are totally awesome in French, though (which I do speak).

Also check out Four Tet’s Three Drums, it’s as catchy!
I love Cory Doctorow, too and am celebrating with you that "enshittification" is further entering our lexicon!

Love that link to the history of planners! Yay for more reflection in our journals 😄

Where’s the Waterloo Greenway? I must check it out after this cold spell.

Oh, that’s nice. Thank you!
