Heather Havrilesky is one of my all time favourites. I’m just starting her new book Foreverland. She’s just a treasure and her alter ego Molly newsletter is crazy good. I just finished Pure Colour the new novel by Sheila Heti and I’m not sure if I heard about it from you? But it feels like something you and my fellow commentators would enjoy. 5 stars from me!

Love Heather. We did a talk together in Pasadena that I just found the audio for -- I may put it up as a podcast at some point, so stay tuned. I’m glad the Heti is good -- I enjoyed her alphabetical diary in the NYTimes

Betty Davis was so underrated! In the newspapers here in Italy was mostly remembered only as the second wife of the great Miles Davis! Let's not forget, as you rembered, that she's a queen of funk music!

I was first introduced to having a third place from the book, The Gospel According to Starbucks, by Leonard Sweet. It is a well-lighted place…but noisy. The music is too loud to properly listen in to other’s conversations.
