Great post, going to watch Listers tonight (thank you!) - separate note, you all good down there? Just saw what happened in Austin. Tragic, just awful. Hope you are well. Hugs.
The challenge is to identify that it is a game and whether you even want to play it. So much of what we do is so engrained. We need to start questioning.
Yes to watching Listers: A Glimpse Into Extreme Birdwatching! My birder friend sent it to me to watch in advance of our recent trip to the Sax-Zim Bog in Northern Minnesota. Those brothers are quite a pair to watch. I'm a bird appreciator not a hard core birder, still I loved it and loved the bog, where I got to see a bald eagle, 'up close and personal', and so much more.
Great line: “If you’re playing the game you want to play the way you want to play it, you have already won.” Inspiring words to live by! Alysa Liu’s performance was the best I’ve seen showing zero fear - it was pure LOVE-JOY! So uplifting!
Interesting thing I learned last summer in Ghana. For the first week of a child’s life, he is assigned a name based on the day of the week he or she was born and whether a boy or girl. The name, Kwame, indicates a boy born on a Saturday and a couple of times since then when I hear of someone with that first name, I’ve searched and learned that they are in fact Ghanaian and further Wikipedia would often give notable peoples birthdays and I could confirm they were born on a Saturday!

I'd love to start making mix tapes as well, and maybe I missed it if you mentioned it before, but where's the best place to get blank cassette tapes?

I love your cassette rack ! I sure would need one (I’ve kept quite a few of my cassettes from way back then and love listen to them still !)

So, philosopher Kwame Anthony Appiah, is likely Ghanaian and was born on a Saturday. For more info, see https://www.nkenne.com/blog/akan-naming-traditions-the-story-behind-day-names
