Some of the ideas I’m carrying with me: write for people who scan rather than read, be helpful, make it a letter (and have the recipient in mind), templates are helpful, create tension (something expected, something unexpected), feel free to share the quirky things that stoke my own curiosity—and find my fellows that way, draw+write, hang in the vicinity/orbit of creative beloveds/heroes, read read read and share about it, go digging and report back. I really do enjoy Austin’s Friday notes, typewriter interviews, books, and art—and I appreciated the chance to parse the elements that make his work sing with his voice, in this time.
