I saw/heard Bob back in 1965 at Massey Hall in Toronto …loved the acoustic/electric split especially Desolation Row(between the windows of the sea where lovely mermaids roam) and It Ain’t Me Babe.
Great Doodle of one of Dylan's band members. As a long time (33 shows) admirer of Dylan's creative output I had the pleasure of viewing a past band member, Larry Campbell, live when he toured with his wife, Teresa Williams. I can not express in words the inspiration Dylan's music has had on my life experiences. I'm glad you enjoyed the show.
BOB! As someone who’s galloping toward 80 the quote was inspiring and strangely comforting. I’ve always thought the early 80s were a bit tricky but am relieved to hear 85 is really when things start cooking.
We play a lot of his music at Ukuele Club. “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” is a fan fav. 😂
haha I have a rap mix I'm working on that starts with "this is how we do it" segues into "return of the mack" and then gets increasingly more filthy — the idea is that your millennial parents start playing you 90s hip hop jams then they have too much beer and start grinding LOL
HAHAHAHA Yeah, I hear that a million percent. I made a mix of hip hop and De La Soul songs that are kid friendly and then re-listened to "Let, Let Me in" and thought, "is this realllllly appropriate?"
I don’t know what took me so long to subscribe to your Substack. I’ve bought every book you’ve written as soon as it was available. I’ve watched you speak. It’s weird. But I’m here now. “Better late than never”applies.
I've been to the Grand Palais last weekend. Matisse' exhibit is great. Only focusing on the last 13 years of his life. Some pics here : https://www.centrepompidou.fr/fr/programme/agenda/evenement/28Sv3dq
"Everyone's favorite comedian, Michel Foucault..." (from the Nina Katchadourian video) 😂 😂

“You’re an old king from some vanished country.” This is so rich!

Such a good list!

Also, if you're looking for some gems and haven't heard of him already, check out Skratch Bastid out of Canada. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI2rqNPYd7Y6ZoMRWl10ZPA

Thanks Austin. I’m always late the party, but I bring homemade snacks 😉
