Austin, if you have not read Christiane Ritter’s classic, nonfiction account of her year with her husband, “A Woman in the Polar Night,” illustrated with line drawings of an Arctic fox and other observations, I think you should. I discovered it in a free lending library at a Bergen hotel before taking the Norwegian mail boat up the coast to the Russian border in the middle of January. It might be just what you need to ease the heat of Texas summer! Thanks for the recs!
I would like to suggest two books for your consideration: "Tapestry of a Life" and "Woven Yarns" woven by Yours Truly (Nora Curran). The blurb should give you adequate information as to the themes therein and about yours truly. Thank you and keep on writing and sending those missives.
I tried to follow your lead and read a big classics this summer, but I gave up after about 100 pages 😂 I tried to reread “Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man,” which I actually did read as a high school junior in 1996, but definitely did not understand. This time I decided I don’t know enough Irish history to understand it.
