How to eat a book
10 things worth sharing: devouring texts, finding treasure in the trash, and more...
Hey y’all,
Here are 10 things I thought were worth sharing this week:
I made a 31-day Practice and Suck Less challenge for March, but I realize that’s probably a little useless 5 days into the month. (There’s always the 30-day and 100-day challenges you can start anytime!)
Cheers for writers who draw: I chatted with Sam Anderson about writing, drawing, and Montaigne and I drew Edward Carey talking about writing and drawing The Swallowed Man.
Texas Highways invited me to write about art bots and bluebonnets.
A poem: Margaret Atwood’s “Bored.”
Carl Sagan explaining how the Greeks knew the Earth was round. (From Cosmos: A Personal Voyage.)
Ear candy: An epic thread of classical music used in cartoons.
TV: We binged the reboot of All Creatures Great and Small on PBS, based on the books by James Herriot. (PS. The house from my beloved Moonstruck is on sale!)
RIP reggae legends Bunny Wailer and U-Roy.
Your assignment this week: Find some treasure in the trash.
Thanks for reading. This newsletter is free, but not cheap. To show your support, you can forward it to someone who’d like it, buy my books, shop for some of my favorite gear (I get a cut), buy a t-shirt, or hire me to speak.
If you’re seeing this newsletter for the first time, you can read previous issues and subscribe here.
xoxo,
