The Situation and the Story is one of the most exciting books about writing I've read! The author's particular focus on the person/perspective of the narrator is brilliant, and her examples are expertly chosen. Her memoir also provides a wonderful example of her approach. I actually just finished the Situation and the Story. It was one of my assigned books for my spring MFA semester. It really is a good book.
